Summoning The Pooka
2021
ritual invocation and group spell casting
performed at The Field, Michael House, Heanor, Derbyshire

For the opening of The Field (formerly DARP)'s End of The World party, a rite was perfored in which participants were invited to tie a knot of magical intention into a cord which was burnt in a consecrated fire. The Pooka spirit was then invoked, charged with the task of bringing forth an energy of excitement and inhibition to the event.

A Pooka (Or PΓΊca, Puca, Pwca, Phouka, Bucca, or Puck) is a spirit or Faerie of cross-cultural Celtic origin surrounded by rich and nuanced folklore. In this context the Pooka was summoned for it's association with mischief and the horned god of the wild.
